Discovery of Jesus' Water Well

A water well believed to have been used by the Holy Family has been recently unearthed in Tel Basta, Egypt. The well is said to date back to the Roman Empire period which coincides with the journey of the Holy Family into Egypt.

Pieces of pottery, broken statues, remains of animal bones used for sacrifice and remains of wooden slates have also been found. Help from Saudi Arabia will be sought to provide the expertise used in purifying "zamzam" spring water. Father Daniel, the parish priest of the Church of Saint Anthony in Tel Basta, said that the bottom of the well was solid with a small amount of water in it, and this strongly indicates that the present well was built on the top of the sacred spring of Jesus.
