11th Dynasty

The Chancellor of King Nebhepetre Montuhotep, Akhtoy, son of Sitre, served his master diligently and long at the time when the king was re-imposing royal rule over the Two Lands. He extended Egypt's control to Wawat (Lower Nubia). He traveled extensively in the south and was buried at Deir el-Bahri, near the king's own magnificent tomb.
