Madja
Eighteenth Dynasty
The wife of an artisan working in the necropolis of Deir el-Medina, Madja's intact tomb yielded a well painted sarcophagus and the mummy of an unnamed man. With her in the tomb was a quantity of offerings, indicating a degree of prosperity for someone who was a relatively modest individual. Several scarab seals bore the name of Thutmose III; one had also been used to seal a jar which had been found in the tomb unopened.
