20th Dynasty

Towards the end of his life King Ramesses III planned to celebrate his jubilee. Responsibility for the arrangements was given to his Vizier, Ta, who traveled to the south of the country to organize the celebrations and the attendant rituals. He visited Elkab, the site of the ancient temple of the cobra goddess Nekhbet, where he was received by the High Priest, Setau, who recorded the event as one of the high points of his career.
