Winged Goddess
CG 38891 Cairo Antiquity Museum
Material: Bronze
Size: Height: 42 cm; Width: 10 cm; Depth 15 cm
Location: Saqqara, the Serapeum
Period: Late Period (664-324)
From Egypt's late period, this winged goddess is unidentifiable. During this period, a number of different goddesses could appear with horns and the solar disk as a crown. However, her wings probably suggest that she was a protector goddess, and may have been a part of a set of statues.
