Period: 6th Dynasty, Reign of Pepi I (2289 - 2255 BC)

So important was bread to the ancient Egyptians that over forty varieties are known, differing in form, added ingredients and the type of flour used. Beer, made from barley was also an important staple. This model shows the final states in the preparation of beer and bread.
