Inaros

27th Dynasty

Inaros was the insurgent chieftain who had complete possession of the Delta, at one point, but apparently made no claim to kingship. He was captured and crucified, when his army, and many Athenians who had come to help lay siege to Memphis, were trapped on a small island within the marshes called Prosopitis.
