Who's Who of Egyptian people, queens and family: Neferu

Neferu

12th Dynasty

Neferu was an overseer of the transportation and trade in Nubia during the reign of Senwosret I. His particular area was the region that surrounded the Buhen fortress which was south of the First Cataract of the Nile. This was an important area for protecting the growing trade in the Middle Kingdom. There is a mortuary stela that gives information about this era and it can be found in the British Museum.
