Who's Who of Egyptian people, queens and family: Re'hotpe

Re'hotpe

Fourth Dynasty

Re'hotpe was the son of Snofru and served as high priest at Heliopolis. He was married to Princess Nofret and was buried with her in twin mastabas that were found near the Meidum pyramid. Their famous limestone statues were found in this tomb. The statues can now be found in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. This statue shows the two in a seated position and looks very lifelike. The skills of the artisans of this era is apparent in their work on this statue.
