Who's Who of Egyptian people, queens and family: Sadeh

Sadeh

Eleventh Dynasty

Sadeh was a princess of the 11th Dynasty, and was either the daughter or concubine of Mentuhotpe II (c. 2061-2010 B.C.). She was listed as a "sole Favorite of the King," a phrase used to denote a lesser-ranked wife in that era. There are some indications that she was actually a daughter of Queen Ashait, another lesser-ranked royal woman of Mentuhotpe's reign.
