Tchay

19th Dynasty

Tchay was an official during the reign of Merneptah (1224-1214 B.C.). He was a royal scribe for the court and for the office of messages. His tomb on the western shore of Thebes is famous for its reliefs of the mortuary texts. The sun bark, baboons, sacred trees and other objects of veneration depict the religious images of his era.
