Thaneni

18th Dynasty

Thaneni was an official of the 18th Dynasty, serving Tuthmosis III (1479-1425 B.C.). A scribe and artistic overseer, Thaneni was entrusted with the inscription of the king's annals, detailing Tuthmosis III's wars and the beginning of the empire, on the walls of Karnak. Thaneni's tomb on the western shore of Thebes gives an account of his deeds and his honors.
