Tushratta
Eighteenth Dynasty
Tushratta was a Mitanni king who was father-in-law to Amenophis III. He hoped to keep good relations with Egypt, and when Amenophis IV became king, Tadukhipa's connubial duties were transferred from the father to the son. Tushratta was the son of another Mitanni king, King Shuttarna, who had previously sent his daughter, Gilukhipa, to marry the Pharaoh of Egypt.
