Deserts cover about 20% of the Earth’s land surface, and are often thought of as unforgiving environments where it is difficult to survive even a day or two.
Tourists go to Egypt for many reasons. Obviously, there are the classical tours, which visit ancient sites, perhaps even including a few religious monuments. They also go to beaches, or even nature tours, for example.
Despite Egypt's ancient allure, today the country probably attracts more beach vacationers than any other type of tourists. This is because, for many Europeans, the warm Egyptian beaches are both inexpensive and well appointed.
